Austrian President Dr. Heinz Fischer and the President of the Islamic religious community in Austria, Dr. Fuat Sanaç visited yesterday the kindergarten at the private Islamic school IRPA in the 23ed district of Vienna.
President Fischer spent an interesting time with Muslim children away from politics and politicization.
The children sang a welcome song for the President Fischer, in which they expressed their dreams, aspirations, ambitions and future hopes.
President Fischer and the children exchanged presents. A blond girl gave the President a box of candy and some other children presented him a beautiful painting. It was a drawing of a big green tree with a red heart signed with words of welcome. President Fischer did not forget to bring boxes of the Austrian biscuits for the children.
When Dr. Fischer opened one of candies for tasting, he ate a little and then offered the children to eat from the same piece and then he ate the rest. President Fischer and the children communicated in German.
He 
asked the children about their names, ages and the nice drawings, and then he turned around and carried the smallest child between arms and played with him.
The president arrived at IRPA with several aides and a small detachment of personal security, without the huge fanfare which we see when other Presidents go somewhere. These other presidents usually close and militarize the streets and constrain the movement of the people because of the paranoia that has made nests in their minds. The paranoiacs in power can be clearly seen in the USA, Israel, Palestine, the Gulf and all Middle East countries.
As in most countries, the president can be seen as an expression of the political culture and climate of the country. President Fischer, with his long political record of successful work for Austria and the Austrians, does not need barriers, heavy guns and paranoid guards between him and his people whenever he wants to meet them, shake hands and to participate in their activities.

Bundespräsident Fischer für Ethik-Vermittlung im Unterricht
16.05.2014 – Wien (APA) – Bundespräsident Heinz Fischer hat kürzlich den “Privaten Studiengang für das Lehramt für Islamische Religion an Pflichtschulen” (IRPA) in Wien besucht. Bei einer Diskussionsrunde mit den Studierenden ging er unter anderem auf das Thema Ethikunterricht ein. Er sei für die Vermittlung von Werten und ethischen Prinzipien im Unterricht, egal in welcher Form.
“Es gibt immer mehr Kinder, die nicht am Religionsunterricht – mit welchem Glaubensbekenntnis auch immer – teilnehmen. Das erfordert ein verstärktes Bemühen um den Ethik-Unterricht als eigenes Fach”, erklärte Fischer. Außerdem bekannte sich der Bundespräsident zum Bemühen um eine umfassende Gleichstellung aller, egal welcher Konfession sie angehören. Das erfordere ein aufeinander Zugehen von allen Seiten.
IRPA-Leiterin Amena Shakir betonte in ihrer Rede die Konsensorientierung ihres Instituts: “Die zukünftigen Religionslehrer sollen auch Vorbilder für die Kinder sein”. Ausbildung und Entwicklung von Lehrmaterialien orientiere sich deshalb an der Lebensrealität der Schüler. 1998 als Islamische Religionspädagogische Akademie gegründet, bietet der Studiengang ein dreijähriges Bachelor-Studium für islamische Religionslehrer in Österreich. Die Ausbildung umfasst islamisch-theologisches Wissen, pädagogisches Fachwissen und Schulrecht.
