Sikkuy, the Association for the Advancement of Civic Equality, and Injaz, the Center for Professional Arab Local Governance, are organizing a conference marking the publication of the new policy research “Funding and Income Sources for Arab Local Authorities” on 18 March 2014 at Nazareth, Israel.

The conference will be opened at 10 a.m. by the Head of the EU Delegation to Israel Lars Faaborg-Andersen.

Sikkuy is a shared organization of Jewish and Arab citizens, working to implement full equality on all levels between the Arab Palestinian and Jewish citizens of Israel. Founded in 1991, Sikkuy works with the government, local authorities, and the public to achieve far-reaching change in government policy towards Arab citizens.

Injaz Center is taking action to participate in the development of Arab local governance consisting of proper management components, including high-quality local councils and municipalities.  The Center views the local authorities as the lever for social-economic development, based on the principles of democracy and transparency regarding decision-making and applying them on the municipal level, allowing the public to participate in establishing policy regarding municipal development and growth.
