Moshe Zar is well-known among the Jewish settlers of the West Bank.
He was on of the first settlers at “Shomron” near Nablus.
Moshe Zar was convicted on terrorism charges in the mid-1980's as a member of the Jewish Underground.

Gershon Bar Kochba is the son in law of Moshe Zar. He married his daughter Shlomit.

End of March 1989. The Israeli police said that Gershon Bar Kochba, a settler and a seminary student from Hebron, was suspected of leading a group who opened the fire on the Palestinians Faraj Amro in Hebron.

Awad Amar, a 30-year-old Hebron resident, was shot in the head by Gershon Bar Kochba .
He underwent surgery at Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital, but he died.
