General Elazar Stern:
Maj. Gen. Elazar Stern is an ultra-Orthodox commander of the Paratroopers Brigadem reserve. He was born in Tel Aviv, 1956
Stern is an extremist religious commander who forced non-Jewish IDF soldiers to convert to Judaism. He studied economics at Bar-Ilan University. In 1996 he attended the National Defense University in Washington.
Stern led the Israeli yeshiva program which combines advanced Talmudic studies with military service in the Israel Defense Forces.
Stern is a father-in-law to a terrorist squatter from the illegal Elazar settlement in Atzion in the West Bank.
In July, 2004, Stern headed the Human Resources Directorate of the IDF.
During his tenure, he organized and justified the war crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied territories.
Stern took part in the unsuccessful war in Lebanon in 2006, where he committed inhuman massacres against innocent civilians of Lebanon.
Stern is an obstacle for the exchange of Palestinian prisoners against the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who captured in Gaza. Stern is against the peaceful resolution of this conflict, as he wants to solve it with extreme violence. On Sunday, February 24, 2008, Stern said that Israel should not pay any price for the freedom Cpl. Gilad Shalit, but that Israel should "work" to bring him back.
