Brigadier General Yair Golan
Yair Golan is a commander of the Judea and Samaria Division.
He is an Israeli war criminal. The leader of the IDF operations in which hundreds of Palestinians were killed, thousands jailed, and many house destroyed in the West Bank cities.
For example: Golan helped the illegal Jewish squatters to steal the wholesale vegetable market February 2006, he made a deal with the Hebron settlers, which stated that the government would help for their return homes (Palestinian shops) which they had been illegally occupying in Hebron's wholesale market, if they left peacefully.
Thursday, 4 January 2007, Golan troops raid the West Bank city of Ramallah, in which 4 Palestinians innocent (Khalil Al-Beroti, Jmal Jwailes, Josef Al-adrah, and Ala’a Hamran) were killed and 35 others wounded. Among them the Palestinian journalist Fadi Al-Arori.
Yair Golan soldiers were filmed forcing a young innocent Palestinian civilian man at gunpoint to lead them from house to house during an arrest sweep in the West Bank city of Nablus. Yair Golan, is suspected of explicitly authorizing violations of a 2005 Israel Supreme Court ruling, prohibiting the use of human shields.
Brigadier General Yair Golan enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces 1980, and began his military service in the Paratroopers brigade.
2000 he served as the head of the operations division of the General Staff. From 2000 through 2002, Brigadier General Golan commanded the Nachal Brigade.
2005 he was appointed the commander of the occupastion at the West Bank Division.
Brigadier General Yair Golan is married, and he is a father of five.
